Gospel of Google

I live on Google.

I'm addicted to Google. My whole life is on Google. Don't believe me, I'll prove it.

  • Gmail: email, chats and to do lists
  • iGoogle: chats, weather, time, maps, youtube and news
  • Google Calendar: every activity is on Google calendars, it sends me texts to remind me of things
  • Google blogs (blogger.com)
  • Google sites: I'm getting started with creating my own website
  • Google Analytics: to see who is looking at my blogs
  • Google Docs: my life is on here. I have work documents, class notes, church information, projects, journals... It is all on there.
That is just a small glimpse. I also use my phone to text Google with random questions.

Obsessed? Probably.

25 Things About Me

1. If I really like a guy - I close up. Let me explain. If I am really interested or if a guy is just top-notch, I get shy and have a hard time being the crazy me that I am. I don't know what to say and I always feel so stupid after talking to him. This hasn't happened very often but enough to make a point of it. I am slowly trying to get over that.

2. Fear of Falling and... chipping a tooth? I don't consider myself afraid of heights. However, at the top of a staircase (usually outside) when I think about falling down the stairs (yes, I do think about that) I am not afraid of breaking a bone or having my guts spill out. I am afraid of chipping a tooth. I finally figured out why - as a child I fell down the stairs and chipped my tooth and had to be strapped to the doctor's table for them to get the tooth taken care of.

3. Angela doesn't sing? That is right. I don't sing. Why - I am almost embarrassed to share. A long time ago, my sister told me that she didn't like my voice - I know she didn't mean anything by it but since then, I don't sing in front of people. If I do (even singing along with the car radio) then you know that I trust you and know that you won't judge me for my lack of singing abilities.

4. Big Front. I consider myself to be someone that can cover how I feel. My emotions are hardly ever on my sleeves. If you have ever seen me in a really bad mood then you know me well enough to see through my cover. If you ever notice that I'm having a bad day, you become my hero. I'm serious. It is nice to have someone notice when the day is not good.

5. People watching is a favorite activity of mine. I enjoy watching people so much that sometimes I forget to be social. I actually could tell you all about my 8th grade math class. None of them remember me but I could tell you all about each student in that class. Creepy - I know.

6. I have a wish list of things to do in Utah Valley. Yet I can never seem to get guys to take me to any of them (PS they are all cheap activities).

7. I LOVE HUGS! Hugs make my life so much better. Want to make my day - give me a good solid hug. I need more hugs.

8. Speaking of solid, firm handshakes are vital. I don't like it when I get guys (and girls) who do the fish flop.

9. I love man hands. Well, most of them. I wish I could put the feelings and thoughts into words. The best man hands are the ones that are bigger and not thin. Hard to explain - I wish I had a picture of one so it would make sense. Ask me about it sometime.

10. Out of all the places I have lived (which is quite a few) my favorite is Idaho.
There is just so much love and beauty in that state. I do need to let you all know that I can make do anywhere.

11. This right here is going deep. I wish others would think of me. Selfish - I know. I feel like I do a lot for other people and I worry a lot more than I probably should about others. I hope that you all know that I do worry about you a lot. I want to know how to help. It would be nice to have someone worry and care about me (family - you do a great job of doing this, thanks).

12. I've been so busy for so long I have forgotten how to relax. True story - ask the roommates. The funny thing is I still want to help everyone.

13. I miss my dog so much. I find that I still cry myself to sleep every once and a while because I miss him and know that I will never see him again. Gosh - I'm getting choked up about it now. Dang it. For those of you who have never loved a dog so much - I truly feel sorry for you. (There go the tears). He was my best friend and (sorry boys) love of my life.

14. I love road trips including the ones through the desert. They are good thinking times. I especially love driving by myself.

15.I have always wondered what it would be like to get in a big car accident . Sometimes I think about it when I'm driving on the freeway and then I wonder who would show up at the hospital and who would care.

16. I do have a fear that I will never get married.

17. I LOVE TRUCKS! If a guy has a truck - turn on for Angela! Life goal is to own one.

18. I don't do roller coasters. Sorry. I don't like the feeling at all. I blame my mom. Maybe someday I will get to the point where I actually get on one - someday FAR FAR in the future.

19. I am a people pleaser. I will go to great lengths to please people, to make them happy, to make them comfortable, to do what they want to. I will give up what I want to do to go make someone happy even if I don't like the idea/activity at all. (The exception is 18 = roller coasters). This can drive me crazy though because I get taken advantage of.

20. A relationship deal breaker = social skills. I love social events and I know that my social skills are not perfect but it is really important to me that the guy I end up with - whoever he may be - needs good social skills.

21. I hate shopping. It isn't fun. I hate spending money. I get bored. I can never find things. I'm not good at it.

22. I miss my ancestors that I have never met. I'm weird I know. I miss people that lived 100s of years before me. I miss them and the times we could have had (if I had been born 100 years earlier), I miss the lessons the could have taught me. I'm a family history major, can you tell?

23. If I have a bad day - one way I cheer myself up is to visit other people.

24. I hate being sick. But who doesn't. I hardly ever get sick and I avoid throwing up like the plague. I can't stand it. I usually go years without throwing up because I do everything I can to stop myself from "expressing myself to the toilet".

25. I'm a good listener. At least I think I am. If I'm not - please let me know. If you ever need someone to talk to let me know. I would love to listen to anything you have to say.

So Blessed - Once Again

I am in a Family History computer class here at BYU. As I sit here in class I find that I go crazy. I am bored out of my mind because the topics we are covering are things that I already know about. As I was sitting in class today I realized what a blessing this is. I know about many important websites and networking tools connected to family history because of my job. My boss keeps us up to date with websites that are available and gives us access to sites that most people in Utah and Idaho don't have access to. I am so blessed to have a job that teaches me about my major and helps me get ahead in the world.

Best Pick-up Line

Do you remember that guy/girl that was in that class a few semesters ago? He/she was a good friend but you haven't heard from them since. Then all of a sudden you run into them on campus. How do you find out if they are single or not? Well, I have a story.

There I was standing outside of the JFSB on campus talking to Alyssa. All of a sudden a guy passes us and I recognized from a class a few semesters ago. He came back to talk. We came to the conclusion that we were in Marriage and Family class together. A very smooth line was then used (either on purpose or not). He asked, "did the class work for you?". Being very single - I answered that it hadn't and returned the question. Apparently that class hasn't worked for too many of us. But, what a smooth way to see if someone is single! Ask if they have taken a Marriage prep class and if the answer is yes, ask if it worked.

Worth a try, right?

S.M.I.L.E

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Where I am

I am so excited about this semester. I have great classes, a fantastic job, wonderful friends, the best family and a knowledge of Jesus Christ. With that which is great we often experience our greatest challenges.

These past few days have been very stressful for me. I have been very busy with church, work and school (not to mention attempting to have a social life). Sunday, it just hit my like a ton of bricks. I had a fantastic day. The spirit was strong and the messages hit home and were exactly what I needed to hear. They were uplifting and encouraging. Nevertheless, I found that when 10pm rolled around I was so stressed with life and the things I need to do to become better. I was overwhelmed. I decided to take the only refuge I could and went for a drive. I ended up at the Timpanogos Temple in American Fork. I just sat there in the parking lot and had that internal battle that happens so often. I finally remembered that I have a great life and that I am so incredibly blessed. It has been amazing since that moment to see how God is helping me and wanting to show his love to me.

At FHE Monday night, my FHE leader, Brad gave his spiritual thought from Elder Neil L. Andersen's talk "You Know Enough". The thoughts that were shared by all were exactly what I needed to hear.

My life is a busy one. I am so grateful for everything I have - including the fact that I am very busy. I have also come to the conclusion of my status: I am "right between ouch and poing" (echoing the 'ing' in poing). Probably not the best spot - but once the semester gets rolling all will be well.

My Dad's Truck

I LOVE Trucks! This love began when my Dad got his little black truck about six years ago. It was beautiful and and useful. I loved driving it around when I got the chance. I loved the way the engine spoke to me. I loved how high up I was. I loved the way I looked in his little black truck.

He has since upgraded to a BIG black truck: Toyota Tundra. I love my little Honda Civic but when I got home and get the chance to drive his truck - I feel like I am on top of the world. I was able to drive it over Thanksgiving break. Once experience in particular really stood out to me. I was driving south towards Swan Falls Dam in Idaho to attend a huge bonfire. There are no words to describe the joy it was to get in his truck, blast the country music and drive down little farm roads to get to Kuna Caves where the bonfire was held. I loved driving that truck off the paved road and on to a little dirt road. As I drove up and jumped out of that truck my confidence jumped to the stars. It is amazing what a truck can do to a person.

I was also able to drive it over Christmas break and I wish I could put the feelings into words. It was so nice to just go for a drive in that truck that I love in the state that I love.

Life goal: Own a truck!
