England: Week 8 - Northern England

Saturday we drove to a seaside city called Whitby. I had forgotten all about this place until we got there. The abbey was my favorite part before and is something that is really quite unforgettable.

This trip was even more memorable. The weather was fantastic and we were in for a special treat. We had arrived when the town was having canoe races.

The only reason for this picture is Erin, Kelli and I are in the middle of our Star Wars Marathon week. We left the movie behind but the story followed us.

We took a boat ride out to see. It was really beautiful.

Whitby Abbey

The boat races.

Kelli and I couldn't resist the spiral staircase up the lighthouse.

Looking down from up above.

On the bench is mom, dad and Erin.

Whitby Abbey was built the same time period as Ely Cathedral. Probably built for the same reasons.

Erin and Kelli found this. Not really sure what it is for.... but this is me playing dead.

This is my second attempt at coming alive. Apparently my first try wasn't real enough for Erin and Kelli. The second time I decided to come out all excited and happy.

Erin wanted to get up in the window.

She got stuck.

She got some help from the other side.

And finally made it.

The window wasn't big enough for the three of us. Though we did try.

Cute old man looking out over the ocean.

We continued our journey and found a little cute town called Robin Hood's Bay. The one road through the town goes straight down the hill to the ocean. It is a steep walk.

It was all so cute and tiny!

We had a great trip and I would LOVE to go back to Scotland and Northern England. It is all SO BEAUTIFUL!
